Billups Allen’s interest in writing began composing lyrics for the band Shoutbus and later for the band Corn on Macabre. A Washington D.C. native, Allen has affected tens of people touring as far south as Charleston, South Carolina and as far west as Chicago, Illinois sharing his unique insights with janitors and soundmen. His lyrical duties eventually led to and interest in writing poetry and short stories. Several of his short stories were published in a book entitled Unfurnished published by Florida’s now defunct Schematics Records. His poetry has been published in Brooklyn New York’s Lungfull poetry journal. He has recently completed a documentary about record store clerks called Vinyl Scrapyard and is in process of arranging screenings.

Allen currently lives in Tucson, Arizona where he is finishing a pulp novel, writing an underground comic book called Cramhole, accumulating records and hosting a radio show called The Groove Tomb.
